This manual is here to help you make the most of your experience in True Blades. |
Basics
QuestThe High Warlock wants to awake some ancient dark forces on the Mystic Island. He already gained control of the whole island through the use of his Wheel Portals.
If you can manage to find all the Nine Wheel Keys, you might be able to beat him. There is one in the chest at the Academy. HealthHealth level is shown on your left forearm.
Don't forget to replenish your health by eating food or drinking potions. VigorVigor level is shown on your right forearm.
Flailing too much your weapon for nothing will diminish your vigor, and even faster with heavier weapons. Blurry vision and heavy breathings are signs that your vigor is low making your attacks are less efficient. Time, blocking or parrying replenish your vigor. InventoryTouch items with your weapon to quickly pick them up.
Click the Menu Button on your LEFT controller to display your inventory. In the inventory, touch the item you wish to select and click on the trigger to use it. The inventory is automatically organized with all the Wheel Keys and other system objects at the bottom row, the consumables and potions on the second row and the weapons on the two top rows. |
CombatBlocking an opponent's attack with your weapon enhances its power.
Parrying by attacking your opponent's weapon during its attack creates openings. You must SLASH your opponent. Piercing attacks have no effect. Rune PowerTrue Blades are the only ones who can awake the power of the Runic Weapons. Each parry or block shall awake a rune.
One mistake, and you must start back the dance. Rune Power also fade with time when unused. WeaponsYou will find various weapons during your journey. In True Blades, you can use different fighting styles and can even fight with two weapons at the same time, one in each hand. The best choice of weapon depends on your style of fighting:

Hints & Tips
Hint #1 - Learn to block & parry
Blocking and parrying are at the core of True Blades and serve not only to protect yourself but also as a way to gain Rune Power on your weapon. Each block or parry grants you a rune. Hint #2 - Attack openings after a parryAn opponent gets parried when you attack his weapon while he attacks you. He is then pushed away. A quick attack while he gets pushed or going forward (if space allows, else using trackpad movements) followed by an attack is a great way to inflict multiple damage.
Hint #3 - Don't let them surround youAgainst multiple opponents, being surrounded is the worst position. So be mobile to avoid being surrounded or find a wall or corner to avoid attacks from all directions.
Hint #4 - Replenish your health before major fightsAlthough this hint seems obvious, in VR, during the heat of gameplay, it is easy to forget.
Hint #5 - Use guards or soldiers to get Rune PowerIt is easier and safer to earn Rune Power by fighting weaker opponents, and then use the Rune Power on bigger opponents.

Hint #6 - Blocking has its advantagesParrying might trump the use of blocking when you get good at it. But blocking still have its advantages as, for instance, it is faster to earn Rune Power by blocking an opponent’s combo attack rather than doing multiple parries.
Hint #7 - Strategically use the parryYou don't necessarily have to attack after a parry. You can strategically do a parry to throw an opponent on his peers so that none of them can attack you easily, and then take that time to strategically reposition yourself.
Hint #8 - Use strategic positioning in fightDon't hesitate to be mobile while fighting and try to find a position that will let you fight one enemy at a time.
Hint #9 - Rushing them can be a good strategyIf a horde of enemies come out of a building towards you and you are skilled enough to get each of them quickly, it could be a good strategy to rush at them while they are lined up and get rid of them one by one before they even have a chance to surround you.
Hint #10 - Adapt your fighting on the weapon you useSome heavier weapons do more damage but can bring down your vigor quickly. Try to find the optimal rhythm of attack for each weapon so that you don’t get low on vigor and try to find the optimal distance of attack so that it is easy to reach your opponents.
